Senior Hamas leadership delegation travelled on Friday to Cairo, Hamas Spokesman Fawzi Barhoum said in a press release.
The delegation, according to Barhoum, consists of Head of Hamas Polticial Bureau Ismail Haniyeh, senior Hamas leaders Khalil al-Hayya, Rawhi Mushtaha and Fathi Hammad.
Barhoum said that this visit came as part of previous arrangements in the framework of consultations with Egypt, aiming to ease the life of Gaza’s residents and sort out the crisis in the besieged enclave, which has been on the brink of collapse.
He also said that this visit aims at following up the implementation of the internal reconciliation based on the deals reached in 2011 and 2017.
In addition, Barhoum said, the Hamas leaders would carry out discussions aiming to protect the Palestinian cause and face Israeli Jewish settlement and the latest US move on Jerusalem.
