Head of Hamas Political Bureau Ismail Haniyeh phone called Qatari Emir Tamim ben Hamad al-Thani and discussed the Israeli violence against the Great March of Return.
The top Hamas leader reiterated to the Qatari Emir that this march is a kind of the civilised peaceful activism aiming to break the more than a decade-long Israeli blockade on Gaza.
Haniyeh stressed that the Great March of Return comes in line with the united Palestinian movement, which has a national consensus among all the Palestinian factions.
Both leaders discussed the possible measures could be taken to face the Israeli massacres. “Our people are great and courageous that they could not be beaten by the Israeli military equipment,” Haniyeh told the Qatari Emir, noting that the Palestinians in Gaza, West Bank, Jerusalem, occupied Palestine and diaspora persist on the right of return and insist that Jerusalem is the capital of Palestine.
Meanwhile, the Qatari Emir reiterated the steadfast Qatari stances towards the Palestinian rights, expressing his full solidarity with the Palestinian people.
The Emir mourned the martyrs, who fell during the activities of the Great March of Return and stressed that the Qatari diplomacy is to cooperate with the meant sides, as well as to work with the UN General Assembly to take the issue of the Israeli violence to the UN Security Council again.
At the same time, Haniyeh briefed the Qatari Emir with the difficult situation in the Gaza Strip and the repercussions of the 12-year-old Israeli blockade, which included three major Israeli offensives on Gaza, noting this makes it necessary to put efforts together to end the oppressive siege.
