Hamas warns against PA decision to pull staff from Rafah crossing

07 January, 19

The future of Gaza is much worse, but the Palestinian people will remain steadfast and overcome the difficult days, member of Hamas Political Bureau Mosa Abu Marzouq said.

In a tweet on Monday, Abu Marzoq condemned the Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas’s scathing remarks in which he accused most of the Palestinian people of “treason”.

Abu Marzoq noted that the ‘war of words’ against Gaza following the attack on the PA-run TV station came to pave the way for Abbas’s move to withdraw PA officers from Rafah crossing.

The PA has imposed severe punitive measures on Gaza, including cutting off the salaries of Gaza’s public servants and suspending the stipends of ex-detainees and families of Palestinians killed or wounded by Israeli Occupation forces.
