Hamas leadership, including the movement’s chief Ismail Haniyeh, met on Sunday evening the Qatari Ambassador to Palestine Mohammed al-Emadi and discussed with him the humanitarian situation in Gaza.
The meeting focused on the humanitarian crisis in Gaza and Qatar’s effective and positive role in setting up humanitarian and development projects to alleviate the suffering of the Strip's residents, Haniyeh’s office said in a press release.
The chairman of Qatar's National Committee for the Reconstruction of Gaza arrived in Gaza on Sunday evening via Beit Hanon (Erez) crossing.
On 24 January, Hamas rejected the third Qatari tranche after the Israeli Occupation laid down new conditions on the money entering the besieged enclave.
Due to the 13-year Israeli siege on Gaza imposed following Hamas’ victory in the 2006 legislative elections, more than two million people have been living in severe circumstances.
