Commenting on US Middle East envoy Jason Greenblatt’s remarks about Hamas Deputy Chief Saleh al-Arouri, Hamas stated the following:
Greenblatt’s remarks on the Hamas Deputy Chief are in line with the US policy of providing unwavering support for the Israeli Occupation.
Greenblatt’s statement in which he reiterated a reward offer for information leading to the Hamas Deputy Chief is worthless, as al-Arouri is a well-known Palestinian national figure who participates in shaping the movement’s political policies.
Being a national Palestinian figure, whose will has not been broken by years-long detention in the Israeli jails, al-Alrouri will not be influenced by Greenblatt's remarks, which, in turn, will never dissuade the Palestinian people from embracing the option of resistance.
The US administration’s move to put Palestinian officials on the so-called “terror list” and to offer rewards in return for information about them demonstrates a complementary role for the Israeli intelligence services and proves that the US compass is directed towards the security of the Israeli Occupation.
