Hamas official Mosheer al-Masri reiterated Hamas rejection of the Bahrain conference, stressing that the Palestinian people are the sole representative of the Palestine cause.
Speaking at a press conference in Gaza, al-Masri said that the participants in the Manama summit had no right or authorisation to speak on behalf of Palestine.
Al-Masri reaffirmed that the outcomes of Bahrain summit do not represent the Palestinian people and their constant rights, adding that the Palestinian people, backed by the Arab and Islamic nations and the free people of the world, would continue their struggle against the occupation.
While stressing that the Palestinian decision “is in the hands of the Palestinian people who will never waive or barter their national and political rights”, al-Masri explained that the Bahrain conference sought to turn the Palestinian cause from a political issue into a humanitarian one and integrate the Israeli occupation into the region.
Al-Masri confirmed that holding the Bahrain summit in disregard of the Palestinian consensus on rejecting the US-led event is a dangerous compromise over the constant Arab position to reject what the Palestinian people do reject.
The Hamas official hailed the Palestinian people in Jerusalem, the West Bank, and the 1948 occupied territories, as well as in diaspora for rejecting the “Deal of the Century” along with all plans targeting the Palestinian cause, saluting the Arab and Islamic peoples for their deep awareness of the “scale of the conspiracy against the Palestinian people and cause.”
Al-Masri echoed his movement’s call for Bahrain alongside all states participating in the Manama conference to withdraw from the US-sponsored summit and support the Palestinian stance against this event.
Al-Masri warned against any move to annex parts of the occupied West Bank, reiterating that the Palestinian people would continue to embrace the option of resistance with all means possible.
