Member of Hamas Political Bureau Ezzt al-Rasheq met Saturday with a delegation from the Alliance of Palestinian Forces (APF) in Lebanon.
Held in Hamas’ office in Biuret, the meeting was attended by members of Hamas’ Arab and Islamic Relations Office Osama Hamdan and Ali Baraka, along with Hamas representative in Lebanon Ahmad Abdel Hadi.
The APF delegation briefed al-Rasheq on the latest developments of the situation of Lebanon’s Palestinian refugees, particularity the measures taken by the labour ministry against Palestinian workers.
The delegation reiterated support for Palestinian refugees’ rights, highlighting the necessity for the Lebanese labour ministry to backtrack on its measures and give a chance to the Palestinian Lebanese dialogue to reach draft bills to be submitted to the government and parliament for approval.
Al-Rasheq, on the other hand, updated the delegation on his meeting with Lebanese Prime Minister Saad al-Hariri.
During his meeting with the Lebanese PM, al-Rasheq stressed that Lebanon’s Palestinian refugees should not be viewed as guest or foreign workers, warning against targeting the Palestinian refugee status and the resettlement of Palestinian refugees.
Al-Rasheq noted that he called on the Lebanese PM to handle this issue in a way that preserves the rights of Palestinian refugees in Lebanon.
