Israeli raids on prisons aim to break Palestinian detainees’ will, says Hamas MP

05 August, 19

The Palestinian detainees in Israeli jails are subjected to systematic plans aimed at breaking their will, member of the Palestinian Legislative Council Khalid Tafesh said Monday.

In a press release, Tafesh explained that such plans were part of an “atrocious” Israeli policy adopted by Israeli occupation forces, who regularly attack and suppress the detainees during raids on prions and hold them in solitary confinement.

Tafesh called on the Palestinian leadership to act at the highest international, diplomatic, and rights levels to protect the defenseless Palestinian detainees in Israeli prisons.

The Hamas MP urged the International Committee for the Red Cross to follow up the issue of Palestinian detainees as prisoners of war and work on exposing the Israeli violations against them.

Tafesh called on the Palestinian people to stand up with the Palestinian detainees by raising their issue through popular demonstrations in support of their fight for freedom.
