A video has surfaced that shows an Israeli soldier executing a wounded Palestinian man lying on the ground in Tel Rumeida at the occupied city of Hebron in the West Bank.
The crime which took place on Thursday was captured by Hebron resident Emad abu-Shamsiyah, and published by B’Tselem.
In the video, Palestinian youths Ramzi al-Qasrawi and Abdulfattah al-Sharif, who stabbed and lightly wounded a soldier, are seen lying on the ground after being shot by Israeli occupation soldiers.
Al-Qasrawi was killed carrying out the resistance operation, while al-Sharif was wounded and fell to the ground. In the video he is clearly seen agonizing in pain as Israeli soldiers mull around.
None of the soldiers or medics present gave him first aid or any attention at all, in a clear and recurrent violation of international and humanitarian norms.
At a certain point, a soldier who has been engaged in a casual conversation is seen aiming his weapon at a-Sharif and shooting him in the head from close range, killing him. None of the other soldiers and officers interferes.
The crime has spurred anger condemnation among human rights activists as well as over social media.
The United Nations also condemned the gruesome murder.
"I strongly condemn yesterday's apparent extra-judicial execution of a Palestinian assailant in Hebron in the occupied West Bank," UN Special Coordinator for the Middle East peace process Nickolay Mladenov said in a press statement on Friday.
"This was a gruesome, immoral and unjust act." He underlined.
Condoned by the highest political, military and religious Zionist ranks and supported by the Zionist public, extrajudicial street executions have been on the rise and took a sharp hike since the beginning of the Jerusalem intifada last October.
