"Kuwait's genuine stance in support of Palestine and the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip is something to be proud of," the spokesperson of Hamas Fawzi Barhoum said calling on the other Arab states to follow Kuwait's lead.
In a press release on Tuesday, Barhom expressed his gratitude and thanks to His Highness Sheikh Sabah al-Ahmad al-Sabah and the Kuwaiti people, government, and parliament for taking positive stances on the Palestinian cause, the Israeli-imposed siege on Gaza, and the Palestinians' right to return to their homeland and defend themselves.
"We praise the Kuwait Emir's stance in Istanbul summit on Jerusalem and the Kuwait's positions in the UN Security Council, which blocked U.S.-drafted resolutions that were completely biased towards the Israeli Occupation and aimed at abolishing the Palestinian people's right to return to their homeland and defend themselves," he added.
"Such genuine stances are highly appreciated and commendable," he continued, hoping that Kuwait will always back Palestine, Jerusalem, and the Gaza Strip until Palestinian people achieve their inalienable rights and live a secure and decent life on their homeland.
"We hope that other Arab states will follow Kuwait's lead in reconstructing the Gaza Strip and supporting the Palestinian people," he concluded.
