Commenting on the Israeli plan to close UNRWA schools in occupied Jerusalem, Hamas spokesperson Fawzi Barhoum stated the following:
Hamas warns the Israeli Occupation against shutting down the UNRWA-run schools in occupied Jerusalem.
Furthermore, Hamas condemns the Israeli plan as a dangerous decision aimed at liquidating the Palestinians’ right to exist and the issue of the Palestinian refugees.
Indeed, this move goes in line with the Israeli-US schemes targeting the Palestinian cause and rights and is aimed to pave the way for the “Deal of the Century”.
The Israeli decision to close UNRWA-run schools in occupied Jerusalem requires all segments of the Palestinian people to combat and foil such a plan.
Hamas calls on the decision-makers, international community, and human rights groups to stand with the Palestinian people and support their rights and just cause.
Hamas urges UNRWA to continue providing services to the Palestinian people and the Palestinians in Jerusalem particularly.
The movement calls on UNRWA to reject all decisions targeting the issue of the Palestinian refugees and their institutions located in occupied Jerusalem.
