Palestinian humanitarian demands, rights a top priority for Hamas

17 March, 19

Hamas said on Sunday morning that it had prioritized the humanitarian needs of the Palestinian people during its meetings with all delegations and mediators visiting Gaza.

In a press release, Hamas spokesperson Hazem Qasem said that Hamas puts the Palestinian demands on the table in every meeting and ‘fights with all means possible’ to restore the Palestinian rights.

The Palestinian people have been participating in the popular, peaceful Great Return March protests to demand their human and legitimate rights, including their right to live a decent life and uphold their constants, Qasem added.

Since March 30, 2018, the Palestinians have been participating in peaceful weekly protests near Gaza’s eastern border fence to demand the refugees’ right to return to their towns and villages, from which they were forced out in 1948, and an end to the 12-year Israeli siege on the impoverished territory.

Qasem stressed that the Palestinian people had been taking part in the Great Return March protests because they believe that they are on the right path to restore their rights.
