The Palestinian people adopt a unified position to reject the “Deal of the Century” and the US project to liquidate the Palestinian cause serving the Israeli interests, Hamas Deputy Chief Saleh al-Aruri said Saturday.
In a press conference following a meeting with Lebanese Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri, al-Aruri added that Hamas believed that a unified Palestinian stance against the “Deal of the Century” would foil the US deal regardless of the pressures piled on the Palestinian people.
Regarding his meeting with Berri, al-Aruri said that the delegation discussed the Palestinian presence in Lebanon and the refugees’ right to live a decent life “just like their Lebanese brothers,” noting that this right does not conflate with their national right to return to Palestine.
“We’ve agreed to reject the resettlement of Palestinian refugees in Lebanon,” al-Aruri said, adding that this plan meant that the Palestinian people have waived their historical and national claim to Palestine.
The US is expected to hold an “economic workshop” in Manama, Bahrain, on June 25-26 to reportedly discuss the economic aspect of the “Deal of the Century”.
