Hamas spokesperson Hazem Qasem said that Bahraini Foreign Minister Khalid bin Ahmed’s comments about the Palestinian resistance movement completely contradicted the facts on the ground.

Qasem’s remarks came following bin Ahmad’s statements, in which the Bahraini minister claimed, “If it wasn’t for Iranian support for Hamas, we would have been much closer to achieving a better peace between the Palestinians and Israelis and we would have a better chance.”

“The Bahraini minister’s statements constitute an attempt to give the Israeli occupation a warrant to exonerate itself of its crimes and massacres against the Palestinian people,” Qasem said in a press release.

Qasem condemned the Bahraini FM’s remarks, “which violate the position and consciousness of the Arab and Islamic nations,” as a “stab in the back of the Palestinian people and resistance.”

The Hamas spokesperson stressed that the wave of normalisation with the Israeli occupation would change the historical facts that the Israeli occupation is the root cause behind terrorism and unrest in the region so that it would remain the arch foe of the Arab and Islamic nations.
