Hamas delegation visiting Tehran, chaired by Hamas deputy chief Saleh al-Aruri, met Tuesday with Secretary-General of Iranian National Security Council Ali Shamkhani.
During the meeting, the delegation briefed Shamkhani on the challenges facing the Palestinian cause in light of the “deal of the century” and Israeli plans to judaize Jerusalem, take over Palestinian holy sites, expand illegal West Bank settlements, and tightening the 13-year siege on Gaza, as well as targeting the Palestinian right of return.
The delegation reiterated the willingness of Palestinian resistance to preserve the Palestinian national rights, above all the Palestinian refugees’ right to return, and repulse any Israeli aggression against its people, noting that the Palestinian people have put their trust in the option of resistance.
Shamkhani, in turn, said that his meeting with the Hamas delegation came to reaffirm the Islamic Republic’s unwavering support for the Palestinian people and cause.
The senior Iranian official added that all attempts to normalise relations with the Israeli occupation, particularly through the Bahrain conference, were bound to fail, noting that the Islamic nations would not abandon Palestine.
