A delegation from Hamas, headed by the movement’s politburo member Rawhi Mushtaha, arrived Monday in Cairo for talks with Egyptian officials.
The delegation will meet with Egyptian officials to resume discussions on several topics, including the bilateral relations and the efforts to end the suffering of Gaza’s Palestinians and the ongoing Israeli assaults on the Palestinian people and their holy sites, Hamas spokesperson Fawzi Barhoum said in a press release on Tuesday.
Barhoum added that such visit came as part of a series of visits made by Hamas leadership at different levels to Egypt in order to discuss the mutual issues and the Palestinian situation.
Hamas leadership’s latest visit to Cairo was last May, in which Hamas chief in Gaza Yehya al-Sinwar along with member of Hamas Political Bureau Rawhi Mushtaha held several meetings with Egyptian Minister of Intelligence Gen. Abbas Kamal and General Intelligence Directorate’s leadership.
The delegation, at the time, discussed the Israeli aggression on Gaza, reconciliation efforts, and the bilateral relations between Hamas and Cairo.
