Hamas discusses Israeli violations in Jerusalem with Lebanon Mufti

27 August, 19

A Hamas delegation, led by the movement’s representative in Lebanon Ahmad Abdel Hadi, discussed Monday Israeli crimes in Jerusalem with Lebanon’s Grand Mufti Sheikh Abdul Latif Deryan.

The meeting focused on the Israeli violations in occupied Jerusalem, including frequent breakings into al-Aqsa Mosque.

The situation of Palestinian refugees in Lebanon, especially following Labour Ministry’s measures against Palestinian workers, was also among the topics addressed in the meeting.

Reiterating rejection to such measures as they target the political aspect of Palestine refugee issue, Hamas called for freezing this decision to pave the way for making amendments to the Labour Law (no. 129) in the parliament.

Deryan, on the other hand, highlighted his support for the Palestinian cause and people, in particular Jerusalem’s Palestinian residents, and the demands of Lebanon’s Palestinian refugees for social and humanitarian rights and amendments to some laws so that they can live a decent life.

The Lebanese Grand Mufti that he was following up with great interest the Labour Ministry’s decision on Palestinian workers with Prime Minister Saad al-Hariri, hoping that such efforts would result in Lebanon’s Palestinian refugees getting their rights.
