Hamas spokesperson Hazem Qasem confirmed that the movement never accepts holding the general elections without Jerusalem, the West Bank, and the Gaza Strip being included.

In a press release, Qasem said: “No elections will be held without Gaza and Jerusalem; excluding either of them widens the Palestinian division and complicates all attempts to restore a unifying Palestinian political system.”

Qasem noted that the elections should include all Palestinian political institutions and be held in Jerusalem, the West Bank, and the Gaze Strip.

He concluded that the same scenario of the municipal elections must not be rhymed, when the Palestinian Authority organised vote in the West Bank only.
