Hamas’ Refugee Affairs Office called Friday on the international community and UNRWA to assume their responsibilities towards Palestinian refugee and launch an emergency program for Lebanon’s Palestinian refugees.
In a press release on the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People, the Office said that such an occasion came as the humanitarian, social, and economic conditions of Palestinian refugees are deteriorating amid a decline in services provided for them by UNRWA.
Hamas called for intensifying Arab, Islamic, and international efforts to end the Israeli occupation and back the Palestinian people in their fight for their legitimate rights.
The international and regional silence over the crimes and violations committed against the Palestinian people and holy sites will encourage the Israeli occupation to continue its aggression against Palestinians, the Office stressed.
Urging UNRWA to take on its responsibility towards Palestinian refugees, the Office called on the UN body to launch an emergency program to aid Palestinian refugees in Lebanon.
The Office called on all Arab states hosting Palestinian refugees, especially Lebanon, to provide a decent life for the Palestinian refugees by granting them their civil, social, and humanitarian rights, above all their right to work.
