The Israeli occupation is playing with fire by allowing extremist settlers, above all Yehuda Glick, to storm the al-Aqsa Mosque compound and perform Talmudic rituals at its gates.
Desecrating the sanctity of the al-Aqsa Mosque will result in reactions that Israeli occupation leaders do not realise and have not taken into account.
We stress that attempts to impose a fait accompli policy in the al-Aqsa Mosque complex will not pass. The uprisings launched by Jerusalem’s Palestinian residents are a clear message for Israeli leaders that the Palestinian people will continue persevering the sanctity of al-Aqsa Mosque and their holy city.
In this regard, we salute Palestinian Jerusalemites and call on them to continue defending the al-Aqsa Mosque compound, especially in the mornings in which the Israeli occupation tries to implement its schemes intended to divide the sacred complex spatially and timely.
Highlighting the Palestinian and Islamic sovereignty over Jerusalem and the al-Aqsa Mosque, Hamas urges the Arab League to stand united in the face of the Israeli aggression against the sacred compound, noting that Israeli occupation forces banned today renovation work at the Dome of the Rock.
