Hamas spokesperson Hazem Qasem called Saturday on Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas to take “practical position on the ground” to reject the US deal intended to liquidate the Palestinian cause.
In a press release, Qasem urged Abbas to gear up for a “field fight at different levels” against the “deal of the century.”
“The hypothetical rejection that the PA president spoke of have to be translated into certain measures that have long been demanded by Palestinian factions, including suspending agreements between the PA and the [Israeli] occupation and ending security collaboration with the [Israeli] occupation army,” Qasem added.
The Hamas spokesperson demanded the PA take steps to restructure the Palestinian House by lifting punitive measures imposed on the Gaza Strip, calling for a meeting for chiefs of Palestinian factions, and agreeing on a unified national strategy, in which all segments of the Palestinian people can participate.
During an emergency meeting for the Arab League on Saturday, Abbas reiterated his rejection of the “deal of the century” that Trump released last Tuesday.
