A delegation from the Palestinian Liberation Organisation (PLO) is welcomed in Gaza, which is part of our homeland.
Hamas has officially welcomed such visit in a phone call made by Ismail Haniyeh, head of Hamas Political Bureau, to Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas and in a speech by member of Hamas Political Bureau Salah al-Bardawil in a popular conference last Sunday to face off the “deal of the century”, as well as in a special, factional meeting on 2 Feb. 2020, in which Fatah, Islamic Jihad, and the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) and the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine (DFLP) participated.
During Sunday’s summit, the Fatah representative demanded an official position from Hamas on two points: the PLO delegation’s visit to Gaza and a bilateral meeting between Hamas and Fatah officials, and received a clear response from the resistance movement who welcomed the delegation and agreed on holding the bilateral summit.
It has been agreed that the PLO delegation come to Gaza on Wednesday and start its visit with a national, general meeting attended by all Palestinian factions and independent figures and then the delegation will make a series of meetings, as appropriate.
Postponing the visit after Hamas welcomed and clearly approved it is a deplored step and a negative message for the Palestinian people, especially in this critical stage that the Palestinian cause is going through.
