Hamas Islamic Resistance

Press release on Israeli arrest of Palestinian MP

13 April, 20

We condemn the detention of national figure Mohammed Abu Tair in a raid on his home on Sunday night by Israeli occupation forces, which comes as part of a series of assaults targeting Jerusalem and its Palestinian residents and free voices.

We hold the Israeli occupation fully responsible for the life of Abu Tair, who is about to turn 70; his arrest amid the coronavirus outbreak reflects the Israeli occupation’s barbarism and sadism.

Hamas salutes Abu Tair, who has spent more than 35 years of his life in Israeli prisons and was banned from entering Jerusalem.

The unabated aggression on Palestinian parliamentarians and figures is a policy adopted by the Israeli occupation to influence their leading roles in serving their people and their vital issues, for which it should be punished and prosecuted at international organisations.
