Senior Hamas official Dr. Khalil al-Hayya has called on Palestinian Authority’s President Mahmoud Abbas to hold an urgent national meeting to face off the Israeli annexation plans.
In a popular conference held in Gaza, al-Hayya stressed that Fatah must take serious steps and adhere to unity with the Palestinian factions to face off the Israeli push to annex swaths from the West Bank.
“The Palestinian people are facing a new chapter of the plot against them; now the Palestinian land and Jerusalem are targeted,” he said.
Addressing the Palestinians in the West Bank, al-Hayya confirmed that Hamas will back and support them in the battle against the annexation, calling on the Palestinian Authority and security forces to allow the Palestinians to resist the Israeli occupation with all means possible.
The Hamas official hailed the Palestinian factions for their steadfastness in the face of the Israeli annexation and land grab, urging them to put forward a work plan to that end.
Concerning the international stances, al-Hayya thanked the countries and states that sided with Palestine and invited them to change such positions into actions on the ground.
He concluded his speech by calling on the Arab counties to condemns and criminalise normalisation with the Israeli occupation, describing it as a ‘stab in the back of the Palestinian people’.
