06 July, 20

Hamas representative in Lebanon Ahmad Abdel Hadi received Palestinian ambassador to Lebanon Ashraf Dabour in the movement’s office in Beirut.

The Palestinian officials restated their rejection to Israeli plans to annex the occupied West Bank, denouncing this move as an “aggression aganist the Palestinian people.”

Calling on Arab and Muslim nations and the free people of the world to urgently act to put an end to ongoing Israeli aggressions, both sides reaffirmed that the Palestinian people were capable of foiling such schemes.

Both officials hailed the joint press conference by Hamas deputy chief Saleh al-Arouri and secretary general of Fatah Central Committee Jibreel al-Rijoub, describing it as an “important step to unify Palestinian efforts to face off the occupation and achieve national unity.”

Activating the Palestinian Joint Work Association is an essential step that will contribute to persevering security and stability in Lebanon’s Palestinian refugee camps, the two officials confirmed, calling on the Lebanese government to grant the Palestinian refugees their civil and humanitarian rights to boost their steadfastness in the face of all challenges.

Both sides reiterated the necessity for the United Nations Work and Relief Agency (UNRWA) to assume its role towards Palestinian refugees and approve an urgent emergency plan to fulfil their needs.
