Israeli occupation forces have razed or confiscated 30 Palestinian structures in the occupied West Bank and Jerusalem in two weeks, the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) has said.
In its report covering the period between 14 and 27 July, the UN body said that these demolitions had left 25 Palestinians homes and affected about 140 others.
On July 21, Israeli bulldozers knocked down a coronavirus testing centre at the entrance to the West Bank city of Hebron.
The medical centre was destroyed along with three other buildings as per Military Order 1797, which allows the “removal of unauthorized buildings within 96 hours from the delivery of a notice,” OCHA pointed out.
Humanitarian and human rights organisation have expressed their concern over Israeli policy of home demolitions, which, according to the report, “largely prevents people from being heard before a judicial body.”
