The Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas has concluded the first stage of its internal elections, which began in the Gaza Strip with the participation of tens of thousands of Hamas members who have the right to vote. 

The election process took place in a positive, democratic, transparent and fair atmosphere overseen by the Hamas central election commission, as per the movement’s internal regulations.

Throughout its history, Hamas has been holding internal elections to choose its leadership on a regular basis.

Hamas will go ahead with the other stages of its internal elections to choose its Shura Council, and head and members of its political bureau.
