Israeli occupation authorities have detained 450 Palestinian citizens in the occupied West Bank and Jerusalem over the past month, human rights groups said on Thursday.

In a statement, the rights groups stated that the Israeli occupation army has intensified its detention and demolition campaigns and carried out settler-colonial projects in January as the international community was busy with the coronavirus pandemic.

Israeli settlers, in addition, have continued their attacks on Palestinian citizens and their properties in the occupied West Bank and Jerusalem, with 120 attacks documented over the last month.

The report pointed out that at least 20 children and three women were among the Palestinian citizens abducted by Israeli occupation forces last month.

The Israeli occupation authorities have issued 92 administrative detention orders against Palestinian citizens, some of which were made for the first time while others were issued to renew the detention of Palestinians incarcerated in Israeli prisons.

The Israeli occupation military has demolished 22 Palestinian homes and 36 structures, confiscated 75 Palestinian properties, and conducted 18 settler-colonial activities over the past month.

The NGO group stressed that settlement activity is illegal under international law and constitutes a war crime and a crime against humanity.

The human rights organisation called on international and human rights groups to seriously act and defend Palestinian rights, hold the Israeli occupation accountable for its crimes, and put an end to its ongoing violations against the Palestinian people and their properties.
