Head of Hamas political bureau Ismail Haniyeh has discussed the humanitarian needs of the Gaza Strip following the Israeli large-scale offensive with Director-General of the International Committee of the Red Cross.
The Director-General of the ICRC explained to Haniyeh the efforts of the organisation to alleviate the difficult humanitarian conditions in Gaza, stressing that the Red Cross will continue to provide humanitarian services to the Palestinians.
He also hailed the high-level cooperation and coordination between Gaza based governmental body and the humanitarian organisation, hoping that such efforts will be continue in the future to enhance respect of the international law and the international humanitarian law.
The top Hamas official, in turn, praised the ICRC’s operations in Gaza and briefed him on the dire humanitarian situation in the coastal enclave.
