'The detainees are a red line,' says Hamas official

Member of Hamas Political Bureau Husam Badran said that attacking Palestinian detainees by Israeli occupation forces is a red line and a violation that cannot be tolerated.

In a meeting with the Al-Aqsa TV channel, Badran pointed out that the detainees have triggered many Palestinian uprisings, noting that the occupation sometimes forgets what has happened in the past and repeats the same mistake.

The Hamas official indicated that Palestinians are proud of the detainees who succeeded to break out of a high-security Israeli prison.
Palestinians now burden the responsibility of providing protection and support for “those heroes”, added Badran.

Badran noted that the occupation has failed in suppressing Palestinian protests in Beita town due to the Palestinian’s unity behind the resistance.

Commenting on the Israeli occupation’s refusal to ease the siege imposed on the Gaza Strip since 2006, Badran said that the Israeli cabinet is trying to deny the Palestinians their victory scored in the “Sword of Al-Quds” battle.

“But the resistance in the field and in politics confirms that the continuation of the Israeli blockade is unacceptable,” the Hamas official added.

Answering a question about the reception of Hamas top official by thousands in Jordan, the Hamas official said that this scene highlights Hamas’s popularity at popular or official levels and the Ummah’s consensus on the option of resistance.
