Statement on International Day of Innocent Children Victims of Aggression

| Statements

The International Day of Innocent Children Victims of Aggression comes as a reminder of the plight and suffering of Palestinian children across historic Palestine and in refugee camps and diaspora.

This day calls for the world's attention the gravity of the ongoing aggression practised by the Israeli occupation against Palestinian children.

Over the past two years, more than 88 Palestinian children were shot dead by the Israeli occupation, which commits heinous crimes against them, including abduction, murder, assassination, detention, house arrest, and banishment, in addition to demolishing their homes and using them as human shields.

The Israeli occupation is holding more than 170 Palestinian children in its prisons, where they are subjected to psychological and physical torture.

The humanitarian suffering of Gaza's children is also ongoing as they are denied access to medicines, treatment, and food in a stark violation of all international and humanitarian norms and conventions.

We confirm that the Israeli occupation is the root cause behind the suffering of the Palestinian people and that international silence and inaction to criminalise the Israeli occupation's abuses against Palestinian children and prosecute and hold to account their preparators is an international disgrace.

We call on the international community, including states, governments, and organisations, to assume their political and humanitarian responsibilities towards Palestinian children, work on releasing them from Israeli occupation jails, and save and protect them from the Israeli occupation, in addition to putting an end to Israeli aggression and crimes against them and restoring their legitimate rights to ending the occupation, freedom, and self-determination.
