Head of Hamas political bureau Ismail Haniyeh has sent wishes on Pakistan’s Independence Day.

In a recorded speech, Haniyeh hailed the Pakistani government and people for supporting the Palestinian cause. “Pakistan has been supporting Palestinian people since the establishment of the country at the hands of the founding father of Pakistan, Muhammad Ali Jinnah.”

The senior Hamas official explained that the Pakistani position emphasizes the links between the country and Jerusalem, noting that this relationship becomes stronger every time Jerusalem or Gaza faces an Israeli offensive.
“This is the unwavering stance of Pakistan towards the Palestinian people,” he added.

Haniyeh concluded his speech by wishing more stability and prosperity for Pakistan.
