Hamas has expressed its deep appreciation of Turkish official and popular efforts to ease the Gaza blockade.

In a press statement on Monday, the Movement extended its gratitude to the Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan for his support of the Palestinian people.

“Those stands are accordant with a long history of Turkish support and solidarity with Palestinians,” the Movement said, hailing the martyred and wounded activists on board the Mavi Marmara as heroes who sacrificed their lives and blood for Palestine.

Hamas confirmed it remains adherent to ending the Israeli occupation and achieving Palestinian national rights.

“The Movement looks forward to a Turkish role that ends the Gaza siege and stops Israeli incursions.” The statement underlined.
