Haniyeh congratulates Algerian Foreign Affairs' Minister on success of Arab Summit

Head of Hamas political bureau Ismail Haniyeh phoned Algeria's Minister of Foreign Affairs Ramtane Lamamra yesterday evening and congratulated him on the success of the Arab Summit.

Haniyeh praised Algeria's sincere and tireless endeavors and its President’s diplomatic performance that resulted in convening the summit last held three years ago.

The Hamas chief praised the outcomes of the summit meeting and the "Algiers Declaration," especially the delegations’ stances and remarks on the Palestinian cause.

He also reiterated his movement’s commitment to Algeria's declaration of Palestinian reconciliation that aims at achieving the unity of our people.

Haniyeh said that the success of the Algerian efforts stems from a deep understanding of the nature of the regional and international scene and the needed measures to deal with the challenges of the region.

For his part, the Algerian Foreign Minister expressed his satisfaction with the success of the summit and the understanding that prevailed in it, which was reflected in the outcomes of the summit and its final statement.

He also pointed out the importance of re-affirming the Arab commitment to the Palestinian cause as their central cause.

Haniyeh and the Honorable Algerian minister agreed to negotiate the developments, especially in light of the new Israeli occupation’s government.
