On the 18th anniversary of the Israeli occupation's withdrawal from Gaza, Hamas official Basem Naim has reiterated that the right to resistance and self-determination for peoples under occupation is guaranteed under international law, including armed resistance.
Addressing the international community and the United Nations, Naim said the Israeli occupation was the longest occupation in modern history, urging the international community to put an end to the injustices endured by the Palestinian people.
Naim further explained that the Israeli occupation has been besieging the Gaza Strip for more than 17 years, describing it as the world's largest open-air prison.
Pointing to the gross violations committed by the Israeli occupation in occupied Jerusalem and the West Bank, Naim called for putting an end to the 75-year-long occupation of Palestine.
